Key Responsibilities
As a Theatre Scrub Nurse, you will:

• Deliver safe, comprehensive, and high-quality peri-operative nursing care within your Scope of Practice
• Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary surgical team
• Identify, prevent, and manage clinical risks to ensure optimal patient safety
• Create a positive patient experience through professional and compassionate care
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of all nursing interventions
• Contribute to staff development by fostering a supportive learning environment
• Ensure all theatre stock, equipment, and consumables are accurately recorded and charged
• Maintain the highest standards of infection prevention and control

Minimum Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) / Professional Nurse (PN) with a valid SANC registration
• Minimum of 2 years' recent Theatre Scrub experience in a hospital environment
• Proven ability to scrub for a variety of surgical procedures
• Sound understanding and application of the Nursing Scope of Practice
• Knowledge of clinical procedures, relevant nursing legislation, the Scientific Nursing Process, and BCA bundles
• Strong understanding of Theatre and CSSD policies and procedures
• Experience in the management of surgical instruments and equipment
• Excellent knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) principles
• Strong risk management and patient safety focus

Advantageous

• Additional qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing Science
